Hydraulic System

Introduction

The F-100D features three irreversible hydraulic systems: the utility system and two flight control systems (flight control system No. 1 and No. 2). Each system is powered by an engine driven hydraulic pump designed to produce up to 3,000 psi. In addition, the aircraft features a ram air turbine (RAT) hydraulic pump for emergencies.

The systems power the following:

Utility System Flight Control No. 1 Flight Control No. 2
Rudder Horizontal Stabalizer Horizontal Stabalizer
Landing Gear Ailerons Ailerons
Gear Doors Trim
Wheel Brakes
Wing Flaps
Nose Wheel Steering
Speed Brake
Gun and Purge Doors
RAT Doors

Hydraulic Pressure Gauge

The Hydraulic pressure gauge is useed in conjunction with the hydraulic gauge selector switch. Selecting the desired system on the selector switch will display the pressure on the hydraulic pressure gauge (System No. 1, System No. 2, Utility, or Alternate Rudder test)
